Is Ron Reynolds the right person for the job?
Isis Pages interviewed Ron to get to the bottom of things.
First of all, if you don't already know, Ron E. Reynolds is running for Fort Bend State Representative District 27.
Ron has been a community leader in
Missouri City for some time serving as the President of the NAACP for the past 3 years, past President of the Houston Lawyers Association, and Associate Municipal Judge for the City of
Houston.
Ron is also a former Adjunct Professor of Texas Southern University, name partner of Brown, Brown and Reynolds and co-owner of a title company.
Ron is a proud graduate of Fort Bend ISD schools and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas Southern University.
Ron completed his JD from Texas Tech University School of Law.
Ron is a faith based man of strong morals and values.
He truly believes that he has been "blessed" with many talents and that God has placed him in this position to return those gifts.
He feels strongly that it is his civic duty to give back to the community which has given to him so much.
Ron has identified three fundamental issues critical for the well being of
Ft.
Bend
County citizens and businesses.
-
Funding of High Quality Education
-
Expanding access to high quality, affordable healthcare.
-
Promoting economic empowerment
Now these seem to be the "usual suspects" that most candidates focus upon, so Isis Pages decided to peel back the onion on these generic topics.
Ron impressed our staff by having a clear understanding of the discrepancy in education between minority communities and majority communities in
Fort
Bend
County.
Ron is focused on elevating the education level across the district with an inherent focus on struggling African American male youth.
Ron is extremely proud of the
Missouri City area and expressed his pleasure with the prominence and success experienced from African Americans in the
Missouri City area.
He spoke of the trends of Blacks with impressive economic improvements to migrate from lower income inner city neighborhoods to suburbia for a better lifestyle for raising their children and improving their lifestyles.
At the same time, Ron also realizes that there is clearly a negative stigma by some non-residents of the
Missouri City area due to the increased number of minorities which have recently relocated to the community.
Ron is committed to highlighting the positives in the City and working with city officials and board members to change the outlook of this city rich with diversity and pride.
Ron further feels that by serving as President of the NAACP for the past three years, he has been able to foster strategic alliances with citizens, community leaders, businesses, politicians, and government officials; these relationships will aid in his success as State Representative.
Ron has led the fight of injustices related to civil rights issues, mis-education of our youth, and lack of minority business contracting opportunities, racial profiling, and economic inadequacies in the
Missouri City area.
Ron is effective in moving from "citizen complaints" to government action.
He is a man of the people for the people and Isis Pages is proud to endorse Ron E. Reynolds for Fort Bend State Representative.
