When you think of wholesome sitcoms, you remember shows like Good Times, Amen, The Cosby Show, A Different World, The Jeffersons, andmy all time favorite, Sanford & Son, but now we have an addition; the locally produced, As For Me and My House, created andproduced byLionell Hilliard.

This light hearted sitcom chronicles a blended Houston family living in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. "It's a modern day twist on the old 'Odd Couple' series," Hilliard says, "but we've made them Black women with children." The main characters, Nicole and Michelle, are adult sisters. Both are divorced. Nicole is an attorney in Houston with two children in private school. Michelle is a hair stylist in New Orleans with three children, from all different fathers. When Michelle loses her home in Katrina's wrath, there is only one obvious place to go...

The 13 episode sitcom is scheduled to air on KNWS Channel 51 beginning August 31st.

When asked why he chose Houston, and not California to film, Hilliard replied,"Houston is a hotbed of talent, and it's only a matter of time before what I am doing will be the rule, not the exception. However, until then, I kind of like being seen as a "big fish in a small pond."

Hillard's believes that As For Me and My House will be a sitcom that will have everyone talking the next day.

Will you be watching?????????
