Both Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes were set to star in the upcoming Film; “Soul Men.”
“Soul Men” is a comedy that reunites two estranged soul-singing legends when they agree to participate in a reunion performance at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader. Bernie Mac plays a character named Floyd and Issac Hayes plays himself. The movie is set to release November 14th 2008.
Malcolm Lee, director of “Soul Men” stated the following;
This isn't like (Batman film) Dark Knight, where Heath Ledger died while editing was in its infancy; most of our editing is done. "We'll go back and see if there is anything we can do better... I want my movie to be a tribute to both of them."
